You have undoubtedly heard of the Grand Canyon, but perhaps you're not yet familiar with Utah's Slot Canyons. These are narrow gorges carved by water and wind over millions of years that now form spectacular hiking trails. Thanks to spectacular light, the deep gorges turn different shades of orange. And at some points, it is so narrow that you can touch both walls at the same time.
Reaching the slot canyons is an adventure in itself, as this can only be done in a special off-road vehicle. You will set off with two guides who will teach you the art of canyoneering. Canyoneering simply means descending into a canyon. It may sound simple, but it is not. Canyoneering is a combination of abseiling, climbing and sliding down.
Your guide will give you a helmet, climbing harness, gloves and a beginner's course in abseiling. One of your guides will always secure you, so you don't fall. Think of it as a kind of team-building exercise on the most beautiful terrain imaginable. This tour also focuses on the idea of "leave no trace", where care is taken to leave nature untouched and is left the way you found it. In addition, a strong community is built within the group and interactive problem-solving is applied to natural obstacles in the canyon.
