Okanagan Valley
The Okanagan Valley is located in southern British Columbia. It includes the cities of Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and Osoyoos. The Okanagan, as the area is also known, is one of the warmest regions in all of Canada, making it an excellent area for growing grapes.
The rolling hills here are lined with vines that reach down to the huge lake that divides the valley. In addition to the many wine tastings, festivals and farmers' markets, you can enjoy numerous sandy beaches and a variety of outdoor and water activities during the summer months.
Go swimming and boating at Okanagan Lake, hike to the top of Giant's Head Mountain or take a scenic bike ride on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. The Okanagan Valley is also a beautiful area to drive through, particularly in autumn, when the forested hills turn shades of red, yellow and orange.
